SIMPLE LIFE

  Rio de Janeiro RJ
  Nautical

Designed for a 41-foot vessel primarily intended for sport fishing, Simple Life combines the specific requirements of navigation and fishing with spaces dedicated to comfort and time spent on board. A master suite in the bow, a bedroom, guest bathroom, galley and living area are complemented by outdoor living spaces, a sun deck and flybridge, organizing different uses within the dimensions and constraints of nautical architecture.

The architectural project involved defining the exterior colors, selecting finishes, remodeling the existing cabinetry and  specifying the interior elements. White, wood and different shades of blue define the vessel’s identity, creating a visual  language associated with the maritime environment while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for time spent on board.

Black-PU-caulked teak flooring runs through the interior and exterior spaces, establishing continuity between the  different areas while responding to the specific conditions of nautical use. Characteristic of naval architecture, the  material offers durability, thermal comfort and aesthetic quality. For the sun deck, flybridge and interior living area,  upholstery with specialized coverings was specified, resistant to sun exposure and humidity and suitable for the vessel’s  maintenance routine.

The existing cabinetry was remodeled and complemented to increase storage capacity and incorporate lighting, equipment and organizational accessories. The precise use of every available space guides the interior design, accommodating different functions without compromising circulation or the sense of spaciousness.

At the stern, the outdoor living area received a barbecue and motorized retractable awning. The sun deck was fitted with a reclining upholstered surface, while the flybridge, where the helm is located, received a retractable enclosure, sound system, fishing-rod holders and the equipment required for navigation and control of the vessel.

The result is a vessel that balances performance, functionality and comfort. Every choice — from materials and equipment to spatial organization and construction details — responds simultaneously to the technical demands of sport fishing and the desire to create a comfortable experience at sea.
