FEATURED PROJECTS

THE STUDIO

Távora Dainese Arquitetura is led by architects Mariana Távora and Fernando Dainese. The studio develops  architectural projects and oversees their execution, maintaining the direct involvement of the partners throughout the  entire process.

The work is based on the understanding that architecture, interiors and landscape are dimensions of a single project.  Site planning, spatial organization, light, materials, cabinetry, furniture and vegetation are conceived as an integrated  whole and respond to the specific conditions of each place and program.

Each project begins with an understanding of these conditions — the site and its landscape, an existing building, the  characteristics of the program and the different ways in which the spaces will be used. Rather than establishing a  predetermined language, the design seeks to build relationships between these elements and determine what should be  preserved, transformed or incorporated.

This approach allows the studio to work with different repertoires, materials and scales. Structure, circulation, openings  and architectural elements are conceived in continuity with the interiors, bringing architectural decisions closer to choices involving furniture, lighting, art and landscape.

The studio’s work spans different scales, from site planning to the detailing of interiors, and may extend to furniture and  cabinetry design and the selection of furniture, objects and artwork.
